The Valentine Kitty Pillow is meant to look like a long stretchy cat, when you reach down to pick them up under their arms, SO CUTE. Now, I know cats don’t stretch this much, but they are also not bright red with adorable heart shaped toe beans either so it’s okay, right? I hope you enjoy this pattern! 1. I just tried to make this kitty pillow; however, I had to change yarns used in the body because I did not have enough. I’m not sure how many balls I had as I was using yarn fron another project that didn’t get completed. That was not your fault. I did however, follow the instruction to a T! Then I made the belly patch which had a gauge. I also substituted a doubled #4 yarn. My gauge was spot on, but the belly patch was about 10″ longer than the body!!!! The body was also nowhere close to being the completed size given in the pattern. It was then I realized that the Bernat blanket that I had on hand was not enough. I replaced by doubling a #4 yarn. To do this I did the body until the belly patch fit correctly. I then had to make the other pieces with my Bernat blanket yarn and measure to use the substitute.
Next time you publish a pattern please give measurements of each part. If you are going to refer to pictures for placement of parts, then make sure the pictures show the placement.
I know you’re going to say that I didn’t use the correct yarn, but I started out with Bernat blanket and had the size of the body been close to the finished size I would have had enough to complete the ears and legs.

If you can supply me with an email I will be happy to send a picture of my completed project. All in all I am quite happy with the outcome, but it was a lot of work and recalculating to get it done.

  2. I am having a great time crocheting your Valentine Kitty Pillow! I completed the back legs to your pattern and they did not look like the photo. In rereading the pattern the center of the leg is 4 rows before changing yarn. To make mine look like the photo I added 4 rows of 24 sc around then changed yarn. Overall GREAT PATTERN! Can’t wait to give it to my grand daughter for her birthday! Is there a way to send you a photo?

  3. Hi, just came across the super cute “Long Kitty Pillow” ….. I see that you also have a dog pillow, is it super stretched like the cat pillow ( I hope so) Where can I find it ?? Thank You for the free patterns that are also super cute

  4. Oh my this is just darling I have 3 cats and I am thinking I need to try and do this,
    Thank you so so much

  5. I want to thank you for the pattern. I going to do this for my niece who mute and deaf, she love cats. I will let you know when I give it to her.

    1. I know I am so excited when I saw this and am trying to think of my cats friends that would love it too, is the pattern very hard?
what a great pattern to try during this stay at home time.

  6. I love this pillow. Now someone in my Twitter line is asking for the pattern, Is it alright if I share the link with her?

  7. Hi I want to make this pillow but I need to clarify in the bernat yarn. It says 108 yards of the cranberry color and it says 3 balls. Do each balls have 108 yds or is that how much you need for the pillow? I am googling the bernat blanket yarn and the one I found says it has 220 yards for one ball.

      1. Hey I have another question. My belly patch is not looking like your pic and I cant figure out what’s going on. I couldn’t find a place to post a pic on here to show you what i mean. The nose aprt looks the same and then where you chain the 11 on both sides but then On your pic it shows after about 3 rows it decreases again and then increases for quite a number of rows before decreasing, increasing and them decreasing at the end. Sorry i hope that makes sense. It would be easier if i could show you a picture.

        1. I just made the whole belly patch too and now after 136 rows see theres an error in the pattern … theres no decrease for the top 2 paws 😦

          1. Hey there! This is not an error, there actually is no decrease and there isn’t meant to be one. The paws are sewn on top of the belly patch.
