It’s here! The Tolorraine Sweater is my first new crochet pattern of 2021, and I am so in love with her! The Tolorraine was crocheted using Lion Brand Yarn Color Made Easy, which is a beautifully bouncy, bulky weight yarn. This sweater works up so fast!

Color Made Easy is one of my favourite bulky weight yarns because although it has the thickness to crochet those big stitches, it isn’t heavy at all. It has a beautiful twist and bounce to it, that creates these beautifully defined stitches with lots of spring to them.
This ultra-textured sweater is perfect for a beginner who wants to dive into the world of yoke pullovers! With minimal shaping and no sewing it’s the perfect beginner garment.

Happy Crocheting!!

Hello, could you please explain what join means at the end of the first round? Thank you so much!
Hello! It means slip stitch to the first stitch.
Is the bust measurements the wearer’s bust size, or the finished garment bust size?
Hello! It’s the wearers bust size. ☺️
I just counted and recounted everything. I’m about to start the split for the sleeves and am sectioning everything off. I have 175 stitches around like it states in the last expanding round. I sectioned off using the numbers, I don’t have just 23 stitches after skipping for the second sleeve.
The first instruction is to cluster in the next 23 (for large) then skip 26 then cluster in next 46 then skip next 26 and then cluster in 23 stitches. But i don’t just have 23 stitches at the end of those instructions because they don’t add up to 175. It only equals 144 stitches so what do i do with the 31 left? Im sooo confused
Hello! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! The pattern has been updated for the Yoke Section + Split for the sleeves to reflect the incorrect stitch count. You can find it by refreshing the blog. Thanks so much!
Hi there!
What do you mean by:
add 3 (3, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 2) clusters across armhole
Thanks!
Hello! This means that when you’re stitching across the Armhole, you’ll be adding a few clusters depending on the size you’re doing. You add them on the spaces left from when you split the sleeves.
Ahhhh….that makes sooooooo much more sense.
Regarding round 1 under split for sleeves.
Please helpe understand how to split for sleeves. I understand what to do but since you’re skipping ALOT of stitches do we fasten off and start a new each time we have to skip stitches?
Hey there, no you don’t fasten off, you just continue crocheting in the next stitch listed.
Hi. My mom is making this sweater. Do you have a one page pattern that you can send me? She isn’t web savvy and isn’t on Pinterest. Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thank you so much!
JeanAnn
Hello! The pattern is available as a printable pdf in my Ravelry and etsy shops. Links are at the top of this blog post.
When splitting for the sleeves and you Say skip certain stitches are we adding a new ball of yarn on?
Hey there! No, you would just continue to the next stitch with the same yarn. I hope that helps!
It sure did! Thank you! I can’t wait to post it in Ravelry
Hi!
I have a question about this part:
Rounds 24-26: Cluster around.
Size XS and Small move to Split Sleeves.
Size 4x and 5x ONLY
Round 27: *Cluster in next 4 sts, 2 Clusters in next st; repeat from * around–175 (175) sts.
Rounds 27-29 (28-30): Cluster around.
Sizes Medium and Large move to Split Sleeves.
What does the medium pattern need? It says for 4x and 5x only so I’m confused where I go from there for the size medium. Thanks!
Hey there! For size medium, move from 26 to 27-29 where you will just Cluster around. Then you move to the split sleeves.
Thank you! I’m loving how this is working up. 🧶🥰
I am making a size small, so I started with a chain of 46. In round 14 the instructions say: *Cluster in next 2 sts, 2 Clusters in next st; repeat from * around–88 (88, 92, 96, 104, 116, 116, 116, 116) sts. However, if I were to go from 46 stitches to 92, I would need 2 clusters in EACH stitch. Therefore, should I follow the instructions and end up with 60 stitches or should I crochet 2 Clusters per stitch and end up with 92?
Hello! The pattern was corrected today, please refresh your page. The correction was to round 11.
I am not sure on some of the stitches, so I will have to google them, but I like the pictures that’s what drew me to the pattern.
