Fall is here and it’s the perfect weather to wrap up in a cozy shawl pattern! This week I am so excited to introduce my new pattern and class, the SkillShare Shawl with my partners at the SkillShare platform where you can watch the video tutorial for this pattern for free!
What is SkillShare?
SkillShare is an amazing video learning platform where you can take art classes taught by talented instructors on everything from crochet to drawing, to music, to writing! I was extremely honoured to join the SkillShare team this past June in Toronto to film my classes with them for a week in a gorgeous studio setting! We filmed five classes; a crochet top, an amigurumi sheep, a mandala circle bag, a Tunisian crochet pillow, and this amazing shawl pattern that you’re looking at today!

When I first made this shawl pattern, I used Lion Brand Truboo because it was the summer, and I was going for a light and airy weight shawl. The great thing, though, is that by changing the yarn and the hook size, you can turn a lightweight shawl into a warm shawl easily!

My second SkillShare Shawl was made with a 5.5mm crochet hook and four colours of Lion Brand Local Grown Yarn! It’s a 100% wool that is so warm and cozy! I loved mixing and matching the colours together to make a new and interesting version of the SkillShare Shawl.
