So back to my story about St Patrick’s Day.
It was a normal day about 8 years ago, when I was pregnant with my 2nd baby. I woke up to some discomfort, but it was about a month and a half away from my due date, so I tried really hard to ignore it.

As the day went on though, there was no denying that my little guy was telling me something. Sean and I went to the hospital and they booked us in to deliver our little St Patrick’s Day baby, Conan!

No photo description available.

The nurses at the hospital gave Conan shamrock bedsheets for his incubator (although he was 6 weeks early, he was only in the incubator for 24 hours as a precaution). He also had a shamrock baby hat!

We’re getting pretty good at celebrating St Patrick’s Day at our house.

Conan pretty much insists every year! I often think about what my Irish little due with green eyes is going to get up to with a St Patrick’s Day birthday when he’s older, but for now it’s lots of green cake, and treats.

Enjoy these festive patterns from some amazing artists!

1. Rosemary Green Baby Bonnet by Kristen Holloway Designs:
The Rosemary Green baby bonnet is the counterpart to Kristen’s Lavender Blue baby bonnet. Filled with rich, earthy hues, flower details, and lacy stitches, this bonnet speaks of forest adventures, and the woodsy smell of mosses, and leaves.  A delicate ribbon tie adds to the vintage charm.

2. The Juliette Shawl by Jessie At Home
Jessie writes, ” Every year I walk in the St. Patrick’s Day parade with my Girl Scout troop. This year I decided I needed a shawl. Juliette is perfect for the coming spring, as it’s open design keeps it from being too warm. The circular design keeps it from falling off, so no worries of losing my shawl somewhere on the parade route! Juliette is named after Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Guides, which became the Girl Scouts.”
So pretty!

I feel pretty *lucky* and *be-leaf* that many of you enjoy my *clover-ness*. These are *magically delicious* ideas that somehow *plant* themselves in my brain. That reminds me, it is time to *shamrock* and roll and get this on my blog! Pretty *clover* how I got that last pun in, right? That’s why I’m here, to *shamrock* your crochet world! (Not trying to make you *green* with envy, but I am pretty good at making these puns up.) “
