I have been looking for a good way to store my knitting needles and notions for some time now, and have gone throw a variety of different storage options. None of them worked out until I picked up the Jimmy Beans Wool Make Nameste Makers Trunk!

Do you remember those Caboodles from the 90s? The brightly coloured plastic cases where you pop open the lid to find cubbies, and then the cubbies unfold on hinges to reveal even more storage? Well, this is the grown-up version of those! I couldn’t even tell you how excited I was to open it up and watch the interior storage expand! Take a look….

So reading those awesome specs, I’ll show you what mine looks like when it’s opened up!

When you open up the sides, you are presented with the first layer of storage. The cubbies can be re-arranged using inserts that come out. I was able to store all of my knitting tools and notions here, along with my cable needles, and some of my straight needles. The insides of the edges also feature plastic dusters where you can store your printed patters! Ready to see the next level?

So in the next layer, I have all of my circular cords on the right, and my KnitPicks circulars set on the left. and in the bottom of the trunk, I have my Jimmy Beans Smart Stix set, along with my fabric wrap that holds my Furls Knitting Straight Needles. There’s also room for yarn at the bottom! This trunk seems to go on forever, guys. I’ve never had all of my knitting supplies fit in one place before, and I’m so in love and happy with this storage!

I would definitely recommend picking up a Maker’s Trunk if you are looking for some great functional storage. The case is sturdy and extremely well made, so I have no worries that my wooden straight needles are safe. Plus it’s beautiful enough to bring with you when you’re heading out to a knit-night!
