What To Make With Knitted I-Cord

In between crochet projects, I often find myself looking for related things to do with my spare yarn. Consequently, a recent interest of mine has been making I-Cords with Caydo’s electric I-Cord machine! In the spirit of helping others who might be looking for a new craft, a way to upcycle, or even add to something you already have, I have a couple of projects I’ve worked on this year to inspire!

Sweater embellishment (see video below!)

As someone who loves a good thrift store, I am very familiar with upcycling and reusing garments I already own. Therefore, a recent favourite way to do so has been using Caydo’s I-Cord machine to add text or designs to my sweaters! Moreover, it was as easy as making the eyecord and then simply stitching it onto the garment, and it made for a quick afternoon project.

I-Cord Rug

This project was a hit with my cat Worf, whose paws you can see in the above photo! With the help of Lion Brand’s Lazy Days yarn and a Furl’s Odyssey II hook, I used I-Cord as the base to crochet over and make a rug for my living room chair. This project is the perfect way to add a customized touch to a rug you already own, or again a great way to diy with a rug found at a thrift store!

Potatoes Sign (see video below!)

There are so many phrases and references that would make perfect room decor! Along with a supporting role from a potato I made from my Amigurumi Affirmations book, I created this room decor. In addition to being a fantastic addition to any craft room’s decor, this I-Cord project was incredibly easy, and the only other material used outside of yarn for the I-Cord itself was wire to help form the letters.

That’s all from me! I hope you all get to creating something fun and get inspired to use some I-Cord! Happy crafting 🙂
