I designed the Lee’s Sweater as a free crochet pattern to be over sized and ultra cozy! I absolutely loved working with Lion Brand Yarn Sock Ease for this free crochet pattern, the colourway Marshmallow is so beautiful!
I wanted something ultra wearable with a beautiful stitch, and of course I love a ribbed collar and cuff! I always love finding ways to create knit looking stitches with crochet!

I absolutely love the stitch pattern, it’s easy and a bit repetitive which is great because this is a fairly thin yarn to work with! It’s totally worth it though because it wears like a dream.
To begin the Lee’s Sweater, you’ll need a few supplies:
Yarn
Lion Brand Sock Ease (438 yds, 100g) 6 (7, 7, 8, 9) balls Marshmallow.
Yarn Alternatives
We also recommend Wool and the Gang Kinda Magic Sock Yarn and Red Heart Sport Socks.
Materials
US Size G/6 (4.0mm) crochet hook, yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers.

Pin it for later!

Hi there,
Do you work the bottom of the sweater just like the cuffs and the collar? I didn’t see it mentioned but I might have just missed it.
Thanks
Yes that’s correct 👍
great, thanks!
I think Vasanti is confused about the sleeves. The first line says to fpdc. Shouldn’t that be fdc?
That is confusing. ‘
Yes, thanks for pointing this out! I’ll update the pattern now to reflect that it should be fdc not fpdc.
Could I use Cobo #3 weight yarn for the sweater or maybe Coffey Cotton #3 ? Tia
Hey there! This is best in fingering weight, #3 would be too thick.
I am wondering if I can use a baby yarn to make this sweater, I have lots of it and none of the sock yarn 🙂
TIA
Baby yarn should work! Just be sure to check your gauge.
Thanks 🙂
Hi
I have a question for the Lee’s sweater do you first chain 90 and then start fpdc? I am new to crochet and a bit confused.
Thanks
Vasanti Pereira
Hey there! The panel starts with foundationless double crochet stitches. Enjoy!
