The Yarn

For the Cookie Snail, I used this gorgeous Hobbii Amigo Giga Yarn. It’s so CHUNKY! This square was made for the Hobbii ‘AmigorumiGiga’ Challenge, so I asked my kids what they wanted and let them pick the colours. Emma-Noel is pretty crazy about bugs and critters, so they asked for a snail – so cute! When I saw all of the colours that the kids used, it reminded me of cookies, so that was the fun direction I took the shell to.

The Hobbii Yarn Website describes Amigo Giga:

Amigo Giga is an incredibly soft and airy yarn quality made from HB Acrylic. HB stands for high-bulk and describes a production technique where steam and pressure make the acrylic fibers contract and curl to make them more voluminous. The result is an even lighter and airier acrylic which is pleasant to wear.

It’s both easy and fast to work with Amigo Giga. The yarn has a lot of volume and is wound in large, chunky skeins of 150 g (5.3 oz). Knit with a US size 13 needle or an M/13 crochet hook (9 mm) to see quick results in your work. The chunky yarn is amazing to work with for beginners since the individual stitches are so large that it’s easy to notice and correct mistakes. Amigo Giga is machine washable and easy to maintain. The thickness of the yarn lends itself to projects like pillows and blankets or things like chunky sweaters, soft hats and other accessories. It’s also a great yarn to use if you want to avoid animal fibers. You should also take a look at our other Amigo yarns. We have the yarn in different thicknesses, so you can also use it for projects that need smaller needle/hook sizes. All variants come in many beautiful colors, and the soft acrylic really soaks up the color well during the coloring process, which results in a yarn with a great depth of color that does not wash out. Find Amigo Giga Here >> Amigo Giga Yarn
