Every crocheter knows that feeling of excitement when it comes to the arrival of a new baby! There are so many adorable ways to celebrate from hats, to booties, to blankies! The Beckett Woodland Baby Blankie was designed to be a rustic unisex pattern with rich texture, all while keeping that new little bundle warm and cozy.
This pattern begins with easy circles that turn into squares and are then sewn or stitched together in a fun geometric design that will fit a modern nursery! Can you imagine how cute baby photos would be with this adorable cuddly blankie as the background? SO cute!!
Not only is this blanket fast to make, it’s one of those patterns where you can memorize the repeat easily and make squares as fast as lightning.

I love getting the Lion Brand Yarn kit because you know you’ll have exactly the right amount of yarn, you get it shipped promptly to your house, and you also know that your project will look just like the designers project! My favorite kit that I’ve worked up is the Autumn League Pullover by Two Of Wands (available here). At the time I was a beginner knitter, and I wanted to make the exact same pullover as Alexi, in the exact same yarn she used. I even ordered the same color! It stands as one of my favourite knits.

The Yarn I had the pleasure of designing this blankie with Lion Brand Yarn Re-Tweed!
“Re-Tweed is a rustic-look tweed yarn that comes in an array of muted natural colors. The nubby texture created by the tweed flecks will add depth to even the most basic stitches and patterns, or show off the tweed in cables or traditional gansey patterns. The CYC 4 (medium) weight makes this yarn perfect for everything from garments to accessories to home décor. And your projects will be machine washable and dryable, making them easy to use every day.”
I absolutely loved working with this yarn it was so soft! And the colors were perfect for a woodsy feel for this design.
